Check-in and Self Check-in
1. How check-in works at TravelNess
Most TravelNess apartments use self check-in, which means remote arrival without physical key handover. This lets you arrive conveniently, without waiting for a host, according to the instructions sent before your stay.
Depending on the property, access may be provided through:
- a smart lock,
- a time-limited access code,
- a lockbox or another secure access solution,
- entry instructions sent before arrival.
2. Check-in and check-out times
Unless your specific booking states otherwise:
- check-in from 15:00,
-
check-out by 11:00.
If you need early check-in or late check-out, please contact us in advance. It depends on operational availability and is not guaranteed.
3. When you receive arrival instructions
We send check-in instructions once the conditions required to start the stay are met, in particular after:
- booking confirmation,
- payment requirements being satisfied,
- required operational data being provided,
-
preparation of the apartment for arrival being completed.
Instructions may be sent:
- by e-mail,
- by SMS,
- through a messaging channel,
-
or through another agreed contact method.
The message contains the details needed to enter the property and begin your stay.
4. How access codes and smart locks work
If the property uses an access code or smart lock:
- the code is assigned to a specific booking,
- the code works only during a defined time window,
- the code may activate only from the start of check-in time or according to the stay schedule,
- the code expires after the stay ends or after the indicated time window,
-
the code must not be shared with persons not included in the booking.
If we use access automation, for example a smart-lock integration connected to the stay system, the code may be generated and activated automatically on the basis of the booking data.
5. Access security
Please:
- do not share the code with third parties,
- do not publish the code in group messages or on social media,
- do not leave entry instructions where unrelated persons can access them,
- make sure the door is properly closed after entering and leaving,
-
do not grant apartment access to persons not included in the booking unless agreed with TravelNess.
Treat the access code, instruction link, or entry information like a key to the apartment.
6. What to do on arrival
After arrival:
- read the instruction message carefully,
- make sure you are at the correct address and entrance,
- use the code or access method stated in the instructions,
- once inside, confirm that the apartment matches your booking,
- if you notice any technical or operational issue, report it as soon as possible.
7. What to do if the code does not work
If the access code, smart lock, or entry instructions do not work:
- stay calm and check whether you are entering the correct code,
- make sure you are using the correct entrance and the correct time window,
- check whether there are additional notes in the message,
-
contact us immediately.
Emergency contact:

-
kontakt@travelness.net
To speed things up, please have ready:
- the name used in the booking,
- the apartment name,
- the arrival date,
- a short description of the issue.
8. Late arrival
Self check-in makes late arrival easier as long as:
- your booking is confirmed,
- payment has been processed correctly,
- you have received full entry instructions,
-
there are no extra operational requirements that needed earlier contact.
If you plan to arrive very late, please let us know in advance.
9. Data needed before arrival
Before arrival, we may ask for data needed to complete the stay and grant access, especially:
- contact details,
- information needed to identify the booking,
- invoice details,
-
data required to organise check-in.
If you do not provide the data required to service the stay, entry instructions may be delayed or withheld.
10. Self check-in and stay support
Self check-in does not mean lack of support. TravelNess remains available for matters such as:
- entry problems,
- urgent operational questions,
- technical faults,
- situations requiring intervention during the stay.
11. Check-out
Before departure:
- make sure you take all your belongings,
- leave the apartment in a condition consistent with normal use,
- close windows and doors if instructed,
-
follow any property-specific check-out instructions.
If the property has extra check-out rules, you will receive them before departure or in the stay instructions.
